I jumped in the car bright and early and headed north. I decided to take US-101 as the route of choice and kicked it off driving across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a gorgeous day as soon as I left the foggy Bay area and a perfect day to drive. My goal was 350 miles north — Crescent City.
There are plenty of things that happen to an individual, such as myself, when driving by themselves that make for hours of great stories to tell your children — perhaps too many for a blog. But I can tell you that I did a few u-turns, ran across four lanes of traffic, stopped the car in some precarious “pull-over-spots”, following the signs for the AVENUE OF THE GIANTS, stood next to a blue ox….you know, things.
Crescent City is a small coastal town — I’m looking forward to some quality time with the ocean, with the forest and definitely with the bright blue skies.
